Interactive Tutorial on Negative Reinforcement

Interactive Tutorial on Negative Reinforcement

As a part of my ongoing process of learning and self-improvement, I am constantly looking to gain more knowledge. At present, that journey has lead me to attend the University of Cincinnati’s online Applied Behavior Analysis program. I am currently halfway through my first semester of three and loving it (even if I am stressed out by all the work I have to do). My reasoning behind doing this is to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst so that I can better serve my students as well as help me understand myself and others in a more in-depth way.

One of the things I have had the opportunity to do with this program I am in is creating an interactive tutorial on Negative Reinforcement Explained. Clicking the link will open a new browser window/tab and take you to the tutorial. Negative reinforcement is perhaps one of the most misunderstood concepts when it comes to understanding behavior and behavior analysis.

I also hope to create more tutorials like this one on the topic of Applied Behavior Analysis. The objective of these tutorials is to help other students of ABA to learn, as well as to dispell the mysterious aspects of ABA that some people seem to enjoy perpetuating. This last part is particularly interesting to me because the ABA community is all about sharing information and being open about the science and how it works. Either way, I invite you to try this tutorial and keep an eye out for others I will be making in the future.
